What still needs my judgment?

Drafted October 8, 2026 · Based on my recorded reflection in AI Frontier

In an October 4 conversation, I described a change I was noticing in the daily updates. I could ask what had not been reconciled and answer the questions that came back, instead of searching through the whole record to find what needed correcting.

That is the kind of improvement I want this system to make. The background needs to remain available so I can concentrate on what has changed. When the system can carry that background into the next conversation, I spend less effort explaining the situation again.

The information behind a short question

A short request can depend on a great deal of previous work. It may rely on knowing which record is current, what a number means, which assumptions we have rejected, and which decision is still open. If those distinctions disappear, an answer can sound reasonable and still send us backward.

That is why preserving the record has become part of the work itself. A useful return should give the next session enough information to continue, including the limits of what was resolved.

Where I still need to be involved

I still supply observations, resolve ambiguities, and challenge results that do not fit the operation. A question from the system can be useful when it identifies the specific piece of information or judgment it lacks.

The October 4 account records a practical improvement I was experiencing. It does not establish that every update is reconciled correctly or that the system can always identify its own omissions. Freshness, incomplete records, and retrieval errors still need attention.

For me, this is one way the work starts to compound: the next conversation can begin closer to the decision that needs to be made.
